As of February 2021, the new Upstairs Atlanta is located in the heart of the Grant Park neighborhood on the site of the historic Atlanta Stockade in the new Glencastle development. Originally built in 1895 as a blacksmith building for the stockade, the rustic charm and character of the space have been maintained in our recent restoration. Located right off 20 East near Glenwood Park and the newest expansion of the Atlanta Belt Line, we are proud to be the latest addition to this thriving Atlanta neighborhood.

Upstairs Atlanta is a raw space with industrial and rustic finishes that can be tailored to fit the style or theme of any event. The open space has an arched concrete ceiling anchored by vaulted skylight windows with white brick and concrete floors throughout. The building also features an upstairs cocktail lounge, a large covered patio flanking the reception space and a lower level outdoor terrace. The Trolley Barn’s non-profit charitable mission has been affirmed and fulfilled by its all-volunteer Board of Directors as:

  • Continuing preservation of The Trolley Barn
  • Service to the community of Inman Park
  • Service to other non-profit organizations and institutions

  • Providing a location where the public can easily view artifacts that illustrate the history of the AESRC and the neighborhood.

The Trolley Barn has been operated as an events facility. At first it was owned by the City of Atlanta; in 2016, after a volunteer fundraising effort it was purchased by the AESRC, which uses the funds raised by its rental to continue its preservation and to further its non-profit purposes.

The inside of The Trolley Barn with its 30 foot ceiling spanned by the original 1889 beams is an architectural gem. The mesquite wood floor is excellent for dancing.
